If I(Bonny Nahmias) was the mayor of San Francisco I would create two things: One, every first Sunday of the month would be a no cars day. Free roads, free highways. It will be one day where the city really quite down and relax. People can ride bike everywhere or take the Bart if they need. The city would also land bikes for who ever sign up and leave a deposite, once they will return their bike they will get their deposit back. For low income families bike would be offered at a very low price for purchase. The next thing I would like to create is a "Hang Your Laudry, Because It's Beautiful" campaign. The city would send out volunteers to help people install clothes lines, promoting green living and pleasent esthetic to the city landscape.

If Only Everyone Understood

If I were the president of a town which was struggling, a town that has the mercy to show hospitality to those who happened to be homeless, and those who struggles to have sufficient food to survive, a town where no souls show mercy to those who needs it, what will I do?

It is not fair, sir.
I call you sir, for I acknowledge your presence within me.
Not fair, for that is not what you should be eating from,
or out off.
A trash can?!
NOR the ground, NOR the compost bin.
It is not fair, sir.
For I have sufficient,
yet insufficient in my current possession that would have provided me the strength,
the ability:
To pull you through, or to pull you out.
It is not fair, sir,
for my only strength is of faith.
That is all that I have, all that I can give.
A prayer of mercy, words of blessing, silently.
Useless.
It is mad.
HE, is mad.
Why should there be poor always?
Or, am I mistaken?
Am I the actual poor one? Are we?
Please then, just show me how to love you, oh man of owe, beyond my pride and prejudice.
Only because you are living, that you deserve to live like the living.
And everyone should have the empathy to sympathize my words.

La Cucaracha

By being a person who lives in Mexico City, I only think of myself in one way.
I am a cockroach, an animal that can eternally live. No one can abolish this race
from earth because it crust will prevent them to enter inside the body.
I am a cockroach because of the mass pollution surrounding me, every day toxic gases are inhaled and exposed to my lugs. I do not feel that anymore, I've been 21 years surrounded by trash, not only the real one, but the mental one.

I am a cockroach and are destined to stay on earth until it's apocalypse.
I want to be seen as everyone in the world, but the crust each time is becoming bigger and I am infecting the living with trash.

Then there is an idea of bringing light beneath the surface and be able to show my own soul. Make myself human again and abolish the dangers I can give to the world, so it can die in peace.

Sex Ed

Orinda is a city where predominately white, upper middle class families come to raise their children. As mayor of Orinda, population 18,000, I would invest a great deal in sex education. I want to help organize extensive and affordable programs and therapy for children, teens and adults. Sex education includes but is not limited to sexual orientation, gender, health, relationships, domestic violence, rape, incest, harassment, assault, sexual dysfunction, pleasure, pornography, mass communication, patriarchy, anatomy, biology, physiology, psychology, race, class, religion, etc.

My goal is to significantly deflate sex as taboo. America at large is a shame-based sex-obsessed society. Children are receiving mixed messages from the media, not including what goes on at home or in religious spaces. Young girls are starting to menstruate as early as 8 and 9 years old.

If we create a community where people can talk freely about sex and we have a better understanding of sex in the modem world and its history, we can notably reduce guilt, repression, teen pregnancy, harassment, and violence.

Sex is not a big part of our lives. It is our lives, our bodies. Sex is so much more than the act. We can chose to stay silent and shamed or we can speak out and change how we treat ourselves and others.
